Day 5 Jiayuguan Pass - Dunhuang B/L
Early morning arrival into Jiayuguyan
Pass. It is the western terminus of the
Great Wall, built more than 600 years
ago, nestling against the Qilan Mountains and the Gobi Desert. It was a strategic point at the western section of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty and is the best preserved pass along the Great Wall. Train arrives at Liuyuan Railway Station where you will be transferred to a coach bus for Dunhuang. Overnight at Dunhuang Hotel.

Day 6 Dunhuang B/L/D
Dunhuang is the last stop of the Silk
Road in Gansu Province and is the
gateway to Xinjiang and beyond. In the
past ancient caravans from central
China to the Western Region stopped at Dunhuang to replenish before they went into the Taklimakan Desert.
Visit to the Mogao Grottoes, known as
the Thousand Buddha Caves. It is the
world's most important sites of ancient
Buddhist culture. The grottoes, preserve nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave-temple architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and
manuscripts, dating from the 5th to
14th centuries. Also tour continues to
Mingsha Sand Dune, Cresent-Moon
Spring and you have a chance to ride on camelback. Return to the train after
dinner. Continue train journey to
Turpan.

Day 7 Dunhuang B/L/D
Train arrives Turpan around 8:00 am.
Turpan is an ancient oasis town along
the Silk Road. The city lies in the great
Turpan depression, 154 meteres below
sea level. Climate is hot and dry. Visit
the ancient city of Jiaohe and the
irrigation system of Karez wells, a
network of underground waterways that
is more than 2,000 years old. On route,
visit an Uygur family before arriving at
the Valley of Vineyards. Return to the
train in the evening and arrive at Urumqi at 10:00 pm. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Universal Hotel.

Day 8 Urumqi B/L/D
Capital of the Xinjiang Uygur
Autonomous Region, the city is
surrounded by mountains in the east,
south and west. It was a natural
pasture in the ancient times. Today you will visit Heavenly Lake, with an
elevationof 2,600 meters. Rugged pines
and cypresses flank the beautiful lake,
with melted clear waters reflecting the
surrounding of snow capped Heavely
Mountain-Peak of Boghanar at an
elevation of 5446 meters. Cruise on the
lake and return to the city for a visit of
the Provincial Museum. Overnight at
Universal Hotel.




Day 1
Beijing - Departure
You will be transferred from your hotel
to the Express train departing Beijing
West Railway Station at 9:30 pm. The
German-made newly refurbished train
has 9 carriages. A welcome presentation of the tour program will be featured on board.

Day 2
Luoyang - Xian
Beijing, capital and cultural heart of
modern China, a city that embodies the
very essence of Imperial China the
palaces of the Ming and Qing courts.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted and
transferred to Beijing Chang An Grand
Hotel.

Day 3 Xian B/L/D
Xian is the eastern starting point of the
Silk Road and one of the most important cradles of ancient Chinese civilization. Exploring the archaeological treasure of the huge tomb of the First Emperor Qin, and the world-famous Terra Cotta Warriors and their Horses who served as the Imperial Guard to Emperor Qin, builder of the Great Wall. Then visit the Provincial Museum and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Enjoy a dinner with cultural performance at the Tang Dynasty Theatre. Return to the train which departs for Jiayuguan Pass journey.

Day 4 Xian - Jiayuguan Pass B/L/D
Full day train ride and enjoy the onboard forum and lectures on Silk Road.
